When listening to the music of Mark Suozzo, his keen sense for subtlety and emotion are palpable. And his ability to write seamlessly across genres comes as no surprise considering his credits as a film composer, guitarist, arranger, and conductor.
Suozzo's film music includes scores for several Academy Award-Nominated films in scripted and documentary genres. He has also contributed arrangements to many recording artists, including Creed, Aretha Franklin, Cissy Houston, Britney Spears, and more. Take a listen to a sampling of his nuanced and evocative underscore below.
Hear Us In The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion
The Remix: Hip Hop X Fashion premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in May. The film showcases the influence that fashion architect Misa Hylton and streetwear designer April Walker, amongst others, had on hip hop's rising female stars of the '80s and '90s, from iconic looks styled in influential music videos to their global cultural impact.

Hear Us In The Lavender Scare
The Lavender Scare tells the little-known story of how tens of thousands of homosexual US federal workers were either fired or denied employment in the 1950s, stirring outrage in the gay community and starting an LGBTQ rights movement with an unlikely hero at the forefront. Oovra Music is proud to have licensed music into this film.
The film will premiere in theaters and on PBS this month. Check out the airing schedule below.
Tuesday, June 18th at 9:00 pm EDT on PBS. (In addition to the national feed, it will have four airings on the PBS World channel the following weekend.)
